This is the number of followers that British actor Henry Cavill has on his social networks. And there are quite a few.


If you've never heard of Henry Cavill, maybe the fantasy and superhero genre in the movies aren't your forte.

But for the purposes of this blog I'm going to assume that everyone knows the most recent and famous man of steel of 2013, Man Of Steel or better known as Superman. And although I would like to continue talking about cinema and how fascinating it is, we are here to talk about something else fascinating; Social Media Marketing. 


More than anything, we're going to talk a little about the impact that social media can bring to a public figure like Henry Cavill.


But what does Mr. Cavill offer to achieve an audience of 30 million followers?

It is obvious that his attractiveness and charisma also play a very important role, but what about his career as a Hollywood actor? Yes, I know, if we all had the same fame, probably our number of followers would also reach one million. But what am I going to with all this? 


We all at some point in life admire a celebrity with the only difference being the type of field; in sports we have David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo. In companies we have Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. In the world of literature we have Stephen King and J.K. Rowling. And the list goes on. It's satisfying and to a degree exciting to be able to learn new things about your favorite celebrity. We all enjoy a dose of excitement, whether positive or negative.


And a dose of positive emotion that comes from a celebrity sharing their life can turn into something exciting and even heartwarming.


Recently, Mr. Henry Cavill shared with the world the future crib for the next member of the family. And with this, how do you think his followers responded? With joy and congratulations. Just as if he were a close friend, his followers share their excitement and satisfaction for the future baby.

Do you notice how the audience engages with this captivating story? Notice the amount of comments and congratulations towards Mr. Cavill; a famous person that none of these followers know and yet they are happy to hear the news.


We are all imperfect humans full of hopes and dreams waiting for a satisfaction from positive news and tender as a baby.

These brands integrate emotions into their strategies, managing to connect with the heart of their market. No one is exempt from these strategies. We all fall prey to them and it is just a matter of being caught at the right time. 


Toy brands connect with children and the excitement of play and fun, "Daddy buy it for me!" 


Now in the digital age, advertising media and ways to promote are endless. Our market is on the platforms and you just have to design your strategy and that's it. But it is not easy. There's a huge barrier of content out there that seems impossible to get into. But don't get discouraged, there have always been barriers that they don't let you go through.
